PM Modi To Launch Air Quality Index On April 6

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch Air Quality Index on April 6 to inform public about air quality in simple understandable form.

Informing this at a press conference in New Delhi, Union Environment and Forest minister Prakash Javadekar said this will be based on the constant monitoring of air quality.

The minister expressed hope that this would enhance public awareness and involvement in air quality improvement.

Javadekar said from 6th April, Air Quality Index would be available for 10 cities of the country. He informed that 46 cities with million plus population and other 20 state capitals would be covered in the next couple of years.
