President Ram Nath Kovind reaches Kanpur by spl train on 5-day visit to UP

Kanpur, June 25

The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind reached Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh Friday evening on his 5 day visit of state.

During the tour he will visit his birthplace Paraunkh in Kanpur Dehat district and later he will go to state capital Lucknow.

He will take part in programs scheduled at his birthplace on Sunday.

President Ram Nath Kovind embarked on his journey to Kanpur on a special Presidential train this afternoon from Safdarjung railway station in Delhi.

The stations on route were decorated to welcome the president on his first train journey.

The special presidential train stopped at Jhinjhak and Rura stations of Kanpur Dehat, where the President interacted with his old acquaintances from his school days and from early days of his social service.

President received a grand welcome at these stations.

During interaction with their friends and associates at these railway stations President Ram Nath Kovind asked everyone to follow the covid protocol strictly.

He also remembered those who lost their lives recently in the second wave of covid in state.

The two stop-overs are close to the President’s birthplace, village Paraunkh of Kanpur Dehat, where two functions to felicitate him are scheduled on Sunday.

On June 28, the President will board the train at Kanpur Central railway station to reach Lucknow for his two-day visit to the state capital.

On June 29, he will return to New Delhi on a special flight.
