Prez Pranab calls for gender equality on International Women’s Day

President Pranab Mukherjee has called for gender equality by removing the structural and institutional barriers that inhibit the economic and social transformation of women in country.

Addressing a gathering after awarding Stree Shakti Puraskars and Nari Shakti Puruskars for the year 2014 at Rastrapati Bhawan Sunday , Mukherjee said, there is an urgent need for people to be more conscious of their attitude and demeanor towards women.

He stressed on giving training to children on respect and courtesy towards women from young age itself.
