Rahul Gandhi goes on Sabbatical even as Budget session begins

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has sought leave from work to reflect on recent events and future course of the party. He is likely to skip a major part of the Budget Session in Parliament.

Briefing reporters in New Delhi, Congress Spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, the Congress Vice President has been granted leave of absence after which he will return and resume his active participation in the party affairs.

Taking a dig at the Congress, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that it raises questions on Gandhi’s seriousness at a time, the budget session of Parliament was beginning and raises questions over his political inclination.

Rahul Gandhi’s going on leave was announced on the eve of the budget session of Parliament in which the party had earlier decided to target the government in a big way on land ordinance issue.
