Rajnath-led all-party delegation to visit Jammu on Sep 5, liaison officers appointed

Ahead of two-day visit of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh-led all party delegation to the state to review situation politically, the state government has appointed liaison officers for both the regions.

”As many as 35 liaison officers have been appointed for all-party delegation led by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh arriving Jammu on September 5,” an official here said.

He said 35 members each are appointed for Jammu and Kashmir regions while two senior ranked administrative officers have been appointed to take care of the visit in both the regions.

The liaison officers appointed for Jammu will report to Divisional Commissioner Jammu on September 3.

Meanwhile various associations and bodies including Jammu traders and Kashmir Migrants have expressed their consent to meet the Home Minister.

”A body of Kashmiri Migrants this afternoon approached me with a request to meet the Union Minister during his visit to Jammu and it has been forwarded further to the Ministry concerned for clearance and approval,” Simrandeep Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu here told UNI.

However, president Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jammu, Rakesh Gupta said that a verbal request has been made to the administration.

”We have made a verbal request today to the administration but in written, we will send it tomorrow seeking permission and clearance to meet the Union Home Minister,” Mr Gupta said.

He said the CCI will seek immediate restoration of peace in Kashmir Valley, adding, ”we will also putforth the details of losses suffered by the commerce and industries in Jammu division, which is worth one thousand crores and demand compensation.”

Singh-led all party delegation will be meeting various bodies to resolve Kashmir imbroglio as clashes broke out in the Valley since July 8 after the killing of Hizb commander Burhan Wani and so far over 65 people have died and thousands got injured.
