Rly Budget For 2016-17 To Have Thurst On Customer Amenity: Minister

Railway Minister Suresh Prabha Thursday said that the Railway Budget for 2016-17 will have thurst on building customer amenity.

Speaking after declaring open additional facilities built, he saidthat “customer amenity was the main thrust during previous Railway budget and this will be continued in the current budget also.”

He said that, for the first time, Action Taken Report will be submitted in the current budget.

The Minister called upon the Railway men to gear up for working towards earning more revenue and curb the illegal activities such as ticket less travel which adversely affects the railway earning. He said that e-tendering process has been introduced to ensure speed and transparency in the system.

He expressed the hope that in the coming years Railway willemerge as a great organization.

The Minister operationalised the Foot Over Bridge at Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (Bengaluru Station) along with Additional Infrastructure at Railway Hospital in Bengaluru, Special Wards at Central Railway Hospital in Hubballi and 60-bed Running Room at Toranagallu Station.

Lok Sabha member P C Mohan appealed for suburban train services for Bengaluru.

Union Minister for Fertiliser and Petro Chemicals Anant Kumar said that he has met the Railway Minister earlier and held discussions regarding the problem of increasing traffic in Bengaluru.
