Round-the-clock call centre at police headquarters from May: Nitish

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Saturday announced setting up of a 24X7 call centre at police headquarters from May this year to provide immediate police assistance to anyone in trouble throughout the state.

Kumar said the call centre would be set up at police headquarters with sufficient number of phone sets and trained staff, having latest sophisticated communication gadgets to receive complaints and transfer the same to police officers concerned across the state.

This would provide police assistance in minimum possible response time.Any person from across the state can seek police assistance through its call centre services in trouble and those manning the centre would also be under the strict vigil of CCTV cameras.

The new arrangement would help in further keeping a tab on crime graph in the state, he added.Rubbishing the Opposition NDA’s allegation of rise in criminal incidents in the state, the Chief Minister claimed that it had, on the contrary, decreased.
