Ruckus In Odisha Assly Over Removal Of Black Scarf Of Women In CM’s Public Meeting

Odisha Assembly Wednesoday witnessed ruckus over the removal of black scarf of Women by police personnel at the Public Meetings of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik
The house wass adjourned five times during zero hour as BJP members stalled the business of the house when its member Radha Rani Panda was disallowed by Speaker Niranjan Pujari to raise the issue. Even the Congress members demanded apology from Chief Minister .
The opposition BJP members trooped into the well, shouted slogans and disrupted the proceedings forcing the Speaker to adjourn the house four times for a total period of 45 minutes beginning from 1156hrs and finally for lunch at 1245hrs till 1500hrs.
During Zero hour Ms Panda(BJP) wanted to say something but the Speaker disallowed her.
While the BJP members were shouting slogans inside the well the Speaker declared the zero hour over and asked Finance Minister Pradip Amat to lay the papers as per schedule and requested the BJP members to cooperate in smooth running of the business of the House.
Aggrieved at the Speaker’s ruling , the BJP members intensified their sloganeering, thumped the Speaker’s podium and tried to snatch papers from Speaker’s podium. Realising that the business of the house could no longer be conducted smoothly, the Speaker first adjourned the house at 1156 hrs for ten minutes.
When the house reassembled leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra requested the Speaker to allow Ms Panda to speak as she wanted to raise some point not related to removal of the black scarf of girls at a meeting of the chief minister in Sundargarh which stalled the business of the house on Monday last.
But the Speaker said the the member could raise the issue only during the zero hour which he announced was over . The BJP members took exception to the ruling and continued their slogan shouting inside the well.
Unable to run the business of the house, the Speaker adjourned it consecutively for three times beginning from 1208hrs and finally for lunch at 1245hrs. BM
