SC grants three more weeks to Calcutta HC Judge Karnan

The Supreme Court Monday granted three more weeks to Calcutta High Court Judge Justice CS Karnan to appear before it and to reply to the showcause notice issued by it, in the contempt case against him.
The apex court declined to take any coercive action against him and preferred to give more time for his response.
A seven-judge Constitution bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice (CJI) Jagdish Singh Khehar, granted more time to Justice Karnan.
