School girl allegedly forced to drink acid by stalkers

A woman has alleged that her teenage daughter was forced to drink acid by unidentified stalkers in Kalkaji area, police sources said Friday.

According to the police sources, the incident took place last morning when a girl student of class X complained of stomach pain after she reached the school. Police sources said the school authorities informed her mother about the pain who then took her to a hospital from where she was later discharged. She was then taken to Safdarjung Hospital where the mother alleged that she was forced to drink acid by unidentified stalkers who were stalking her daughter for the past one month, sources said.

According to a hospital official, the girl has been kept in the critical care unit. No external injuries were found on the girl’s body. Prima facie, it does not look like a case where the girl was forced to drink acid. She is fully conscious and talking to her mother, the official said. Police is investigating the case from all angles, including the possibility of a “suicide” bid by the girl. Sources said the girl’s parents are going through separation. So, she could have consumed something under depression.

The police have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code against unknown persons and are further investigating the matter.
