Sharad Yadav has retired from politics : Lalu

11 April, Patna

RJD chief Lalu Prasad today rubbed salt into the wounds of former JD(U) president Sharad Yadav saying his removal from the post marked an end to his political career.

Virtually meddling into JD(U)’s internal affairs, Mr Prasad said Mr Yadav could have become party president for the fourth time if party’s Constitution was amended.

RJD chief who had locked horns with Sharad Yadav in several Lok Sabha elections from Madhepura told newspersons that Mr Yadav had to relinquish his post in view of the changes made in the JD (U) organisational set up.

He, however, congratulated Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on his becoming national president of JD(U) saying Mr Kumar had proved his credentials by efficiently discharging his duties in government as well as also in the party and he would continue to do so in future too.
