Shiv Sena Workers Demonstrated Outside Shobha De’s House Protesting Tweet

The Shiv Sena Thursday stepped up attack on columnist Shobha De and protested in front of her house demanding an apology for offending the sentiments of Marathi ‘manoos’ (people).

Shiv Sena workers also sent her dahi-misal and vada-paav- Mumbai’s favourite fast food dishes.

Reacting to the entire episode today, De said she is ready to face whatever the outcome and feels safe and confident of security provided by the Mumbai police.

The controversy started after Shobha De reacted to Maharashtra government’s move to make screening of Marathi films at prime slots in multiplexes mandatory. De in her tweet called Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ‘Diktatwala’ and said after beef ban now movies. This is not the Maharashtra all love. This is nothing but ‘dadagiri’.

Following which yesterday, Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik, raising point of propriety in the state Legislative Assembly, had said that De had hurt the sentiments of the House and sought to move breach of privilege motion against her.
