Shyam Benegal To Be Conferred With PIFF Award

Noted film personality Shyam Bengal and acclaimed poet and actor Soumitra Chatterjee will receive the Pune Internationl Film Festival (PIFF) award for outstanding contribution to the Indian Cinema.

S D Burman international award will be given to noted music composer Uttam Singh.

The newly-constituted award for outstanding contribution to animation will be given to Ram Mohan.

These veterans will be bestowed with the awards during the opening ceremony of the festival on January 14 at 1600 hrs in city pride Kothrud. The festival will have 350 shows of over 280 films from 65 countries

Screenings will be hosted at seven locations in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, an official statement said.
