Swine Flu Toll in India reaches 833 ,Gujarat Assembly Speaker and Min. of State For Health tested H1N1Positive

Swine flu claimed 21 more lives Monday as the toll in the country reached 833 and the number of those affected by the H1N1 virus breached the 14,000 mark. Opposition parties have expressed concern over the swine flu cases and asked the government to take effective measures to contain the deadly disease.
Swine flu claimed 12 more lives taking the total number of deaths to 219. Three deaths were reported from Ahmedabad while two deaths each were reported from Kutch and Rajkot district.
Health Department sources said that 230 new cases of swine flu were reported across the state taking the total number of cases to 3337 till date.
Meanwhile , after the Speaker of State Assembly Ganpatsinh Vasava tested positive of swine flu, now the Minister of State for Health Shankarbhai Chaudhary has also been tested positive of Swine flu. Ahmedabad District Collector has banned the gathering of public in any form in a precautionary measure against Swine flu.
In Rajasthan, eleven people, including a 5-year-old kid, died of swine flu Monday . With this, swine flu death toll in the state has risen to 225.
Health department has screened more than 34 lakh people in OPD and provided Tamiflu tablets to more than one lakh sixty thousand people. During house hold survey after screening, more than one lakh people were provided Tamiflu tablets.
As many as 56 new cases of swine flu have been reported in Telengana , where the H1N1 virus has claimed 51 lives so far this year.
From January 1 till Sunday, 4,040 samples were tested, out of which 1,316 were found positive for swine flu.
The number of deaths due to swine flu and related complications as on date is 51, a state government bulletin said on Monday.
Fifty-six of the 181 samples tested on Sunday were found positive for the H1N1 viral infection, it said. “Sufficient stock of medicines and testing kits are available at all teaching hospitals, district hospitals and area hospitals,” the bulletin said .
Union Health Minister JP Nadda will make a statement in both Houses of Parliament today – Tuesday regarding the swine flu situation and the steps taken to control it.
