Ten Opposition Parties To Take Out March To Rashtrapati Bhawan Protesting Land Bill Today

Senior leaders of ten Opposition parties will take out a march to the Rashtrapati Bhavan today against the Land Acquisition Bill. The parties include Congress, Samajwadi Party, TMC, DMK, Janta Dal (U) and
CPI(M). . The march will start from Parliament House in the evening.

These parties have been continuously opposing the amendments proposed in the Bill terming them as anti-farmer.

JD(U) spokesperson K C Tyagi said that a 19-member delegation which include Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury and Ramgopal Yadav of Samajwadi Party will meet President Pranab Mukherjee on the issue.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan attacked Opposition parties for their proposed protest against the Land Acquisition Bill, saying they are doing it merely for politics.

Talking to reporters outside Parliament Monday , Paswan said, there is no resentment among the farmers on the issue and only opposition parties are raising it.

Another Union Minister Ramkripal Yadav also criticized the opposition parties saying they have no issue to raise against the NDA government. He said that the Bill is in the interest of farmers and poor people.
Yadav also alleged that the opposition is creating hurdle in the path of development by obstructing the Bill.
