Three hard-Core NLFT Militants Surrender To Security Forces

Three hard-core National Liberation Front of Tripura, NLFT militants have surrendered to the security forces after returning from their hideout in Bangladesh.

Sources in the State DGP office confirmed Sunday that A. Halam, the terror of late 1980s and early nineties militancy in Tripura, gave himself in on Friday afternoon to a joint team of Tripura State Rifles and special branch of State police in Kanchanpur-Bhandarima border area.

The self-styled Deputy Chief of Army staff of NLFT, Halam still talking the most wanted list of Tripura police surrendered with two other hardcore militants.

The militants and Halam’s four daughters and wife were brought to Agartala yesterday for a formal surrender to the DGP.

Three fire arms live catridges Bangladeshi currencies and a transmitter set have been recovered from them. The ultras are being kept at special branch office for continued interrogation.
