Top Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Abdul Qayoom Najar killed near LoC in J&K

In Jammu & Kashmir, one of the longest surviving top terrorist Abdul Qayoom Najar was killed in a gunfight near the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district Tuesday.
Security officials said Qayoom was killed in a gunfight near Zorawar post of Lachipora Uri in the district. Najar was a resident of Sopore who carried Rs 10 lakh bounty on his head.
A Police spokesman in a statement said the slain terrorist was returning to Kashmir from Pakistan to take command of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen following the “wiping up of Hizbul Mujahideen” from north Kashmir.
The spokesman said Qayoom Najar @ Jansahib @ Ishfaq of Mumkak Sopore town had been active since year 1999. He further said that the killed terrorist had exfiltrated to Pakistan in 2015.
The Police spokesman described his killing a very significant development.
