Two Policemen Arrested In J&K For Alleged Killing Of A Teenager

In Jammu and Kashmir, two policemen have been arrested in connection with the killing of a teenager in police firing during protests in Budgam district yesterday. SHO Police Station Magam, Inspector Khursheed-ur-Rehman has also been attached for lack of supervision.

In a statement yesterday evening, a Police spokesman said that preliminary investigation revealed that Constable Javaid Ahmad had fired with his service rifle on the directions of Incharge police party ASI Manzoor Ahmad, in violation of laid down Standard Operating Procedure.

The State Government has already ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident. Two others also injured when security forces opened fire to disperse demonstrators at Narbal on the Srinagar-Baramulla Highway yesterday morning.
