Uproar in Rajya Sabha after Naresh Agarwal’s controversial remarks on Hindu gods

Rajya Sabha Wednesday witnessed uproar during post lunch session following Samajwadi leader Naresh Agarwal’s controversial remarks on Hindu gods.
Speaking during a short duration discussion in the House on the situation out of the reported increase in the incidents of lynching and atrocities on minorities and dalits , Agrawal made such remarks which agitated the ruling party members.
The BJP members trooped into the well demanding an apology from the SP leader. Leader of the House, Arun Jaitley objected to the comments and said Agrawal would have been liable for prosecution had he made the remarks outside the House. He said the MP should tender apology and withdraw the comment.
Amid noisy scene, Deputy Chairman P J Kurien adjourned the House for a brief period. Later, the SP leader expressed regret over his remarks and the chair expunged them.
