US asks Pakistan to bring perpetrators of Mumbai, Pathankot attacks to justice

30 August, New Delhi

India and the United States today unequivocally denounced making distinction between good and bad terrorists with both countries demanding Pakistan to act against the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and the January 2 Pathankot airbase attack.

During the second strategic and commercial dialogue, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and her US counterpart John Kerry have focused discussion on the issue of terrorism with the US side reaffirming that it did not recognise any distinction between a good terrorist or a bad terrorist.

“We can’t, won’t make distinction between good & bad terrorists; terror is terror no matter where it comes from or who carries it out,” Mr Kerry said, addressing a joint press conference with Ms Swaraj after wrapping up their bilateral talks.

Both the sides expressed happiness over the signing of a landmark agreement to share military logistics between armed forces of the two countries.
On her part, Ms Swaraj forcefully raised the issue of terrorism with the US side.

“We reaffirmed the urgent necessity for Pakistan to dismantle safe havens for terrorists and criminals networks including LeT and JeM,” she said.
