V Vaithilingam resigns as Puducherry Assembly Speaker

Puducherry, March 22:

Puducherry Assembly Speaker V Vaithilingam on Thursday submitted his resignation to Deputy Speaker VP Sivakolundhu.

The resignation comes after Vaithilingam was nominated by Congress to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Voting for the Puducherry Lok Sabha constituency will be held on April 18.
