Venkaiah Naidu Appeals Opposition To Cooperate In Passing Land Bill

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu Friday appealed the opposition parties to cooperate in passing the Land Acquisition Bill as it is the need of the hour.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, he said the bill is aimed at maintaining pace of the economic growth of the country.

Stating that the Government will ensure protecting farmers’ rights, the Minister appealed to political parties especially Congress and the left parties not to obstruct the smooth passage of the bill.

He asked them to take part in the debate over the bill and make constructive suggestions to further improve the bill. Naidu said the Congress has been raising unnecessary objections even as the Congress -ruled states suggested several changes to the bill.

He said several bills including GST Bill and Real Estate Development and Regulation Bill will be brought to Parliament during the second leg of the Budget session, which will begin from 20th of this month to ensure pace of development.
