VHP sponsored Dharam Sabha ends amid demand for legislation for construction of Ram temple

Mumbai, November 25:

Without the announcement of any date for construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the pro-Hindu outfit Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) sponsored Dharam Sabha (religious meeting) here, ended on Sunday evening with a demand from the Centre for a legislation to clear the path for temple construction.

The Dharam Sabha did not passed any written resolution but it underlined the strong sentiment for Bill or Ordinance for Ram temple construction by the Centre.

RSS Sah Sarakaryavahs Krishna Gopal, who presided the Dharam Sabha at Bade Bhatmal, said, “We (RSS) will abide by the decision of this Sabha. We will not sit in ease till temple construction is achieved”.

Hindu religious leader Swami Rambhadracharya, who addressed the gathering on Sunday, disclosed, “I had spoken to a senior minister in Central government regarding this issue on November 23. He assured me that after December 11, he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I am hopeful that a legislation will come for temple construction.”Rambhadracharya, moreover, said that he had also spoken to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Bhagwat had assured him that government would be pressurised for a legislation in Parliament for temple construction.

“We want all MP’s to be united and the Bill will be passed with 2/3rd majority,” Rambhadracharya told the gathering at the Sabha .

Earlier in the day, VHP national vice-president Champat Rai gave a clarion call for immediate construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya, along with the ownership of entire disputed land and withdrawal of case from Supreme court from the Muslim side.

“We want entire disputed area for Ram Temple construction at Ayodhya,” Mr Ram said here at Dharam Sabha (religious meeting) on Sunday.

He also demanded that Muslim side should withdraw their case for paving early construction of the temple.

Mr Ram, in a warning to Central government, said that the ‘huge’ gathering in the Sabha was just from 45 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

He announced that next Dharma Sabha will be held in National Capital on December 9.
