WB: Governor disapproves Mamata’s remarks on deployment of army at toll plazas

03 December, Kolkata

West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi Saturday, virtually disapproved Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s remarks on the deployment of army at toll plazas.

He said one should be careful while making allegations against a responsible organisation like the army.

Tripathi told reporters that no one should insult or defame the army. Mamata Banerjee reverted back, saying, the Governor has been speaking in the voice of Central Government and that before making statements, all details should have been checked as he was away from the state for eight days.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Trinamool Congress met the Governor at the Raj Bhawan in Kolkata this afternoon.

The delegation submitted a memorandum against what TMC called, Army Deployment in the state and in different toll-plazas, without proper approval of the State.
