22 May, Agartala

Communist Party of India (Marxist) chief Sitaram Yechury today exuded full confidence that Bharatiya Janata Party would come a cropper in the 2018 assembly elections in Tripura.

BJP president Amit Shah earlier this month underlined his party’s “target” to form a government in Tripura and overtake the Left-front before ensuring a ‘Congress-free’ Northeast.

Terming Tripura as ”BJP’s Waterloo”, Yechury in an update on Facebook pointed out that ”its Human Development indicators are the best amongst NE states, beats BJP-ruled states.

The Northeastern state is due to go to the polls in 2018 to elect 60-member legislative assembly.
