Yogeshwar Dutt knocked out of Rio 2016

Yogeshwar Dutt’s chances of featuring in the bronze medal bout of the 65kg freestyle wrestling event crashed as Ganzorigiin Mandakhnaran of Mongolia lost his quarterfinal bout here Sunday.

Earlier, Yogeshwar had lost his bout 0-3 against the Mongolian wrestler in the qualifying event and the Haryana grappler’s hopes of reaching the medal rounds relied on his Mongolian opponent though the Repechage system.

Thirty three-year-old Yogeshwar, who had bagged bronze medal at the last London Olympics, today probably hit the mat for the last time in an Olympic event.
