Odisha Govt. Approves $110 Million ADB Loan for OSDP

Odisha Government Saturday approved a proposal to avail 110 million USD equivalent to Rs 662 crore from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the implementation of the Odisha Skill Development Project (OSDP).

The decision was taken at the state Cabinet meeting held here Saturday chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Briefing newspersons after the meeting Chief Secretary G C Pati said the total cost of the Project was Rs.1051crore (US$ 175 Million) in which the state share would be around Rs 389 crore.

The project , Pati said would be implemented from 2015-16 to 2019-20.
The project would support the establishment of eight Advanced Skill Training Institutes (ASIT) under an autonomous umbrella society Odisha Skill Development Society (OSDP).and 30 government ITIs.

The ASIT s would be aligned to various industrial cluster in Odisha and demonstrate international quality bench mark in training,create a pool of around 20,000 competent Master trainers.

The ASITs will function as finishing schools cum production centres and will serve as resource centres for public and private ITI’s, polytechnics, colleges and skill development centres
