62nd National Film Awards : Kangana Ranaut Bags Best Actress Award For Film “Queen”

Kangana Ranaut has bagged the National award for best actress for her role in Vikas Bahl-directed Hindi film Queen.
The film has also been adjudged as the best feature film in Hindi category. The winners of the 62nd National Film Awards were announced by the chairperson of the jury, P Bharathiraja at a press conference in New Delhi this evening.
Hindi film Mary Kom was awarded Best Popular Film providing Wholesome Entertainment. Another Hindi film Haider bagged the awards for Best Choreography, costume, dialogues, and music direction. Sukhwinder Singh got the Best Male Playback singer award for his song ‘Bismil’ in Haider. The film Court has been adjudged as the Best Feature Film.
Kannada actor Vijay has been selected for Best Actor and Srijit Mukherjee won the Best Direction award for his Bengali film, Chotushkone. Tamil singer Uttara Unnikrishanan bagged the Best Female Playback Singer prize for the song ‘Azhagu’ in the movie ‘Saivam’.
Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut film has gone to Aditya Vikram Sengupta, director of Bengali film Asha Jaoar Majhe.
Tamil film, Kaakkaa Muttai and Marathi movie Elizabeth Ekadashi shared the Best Children’s Film award. Malayali movie Ottaal received Best Film award on Environment Conservation.
President Pranab Mukherjee will confer the awards on 3rd May. Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor will also receive his Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the ceremony
