Japan Commits ODA Loans Of Rs 1,165 Cr To Develop Odisha Transmission System

With an aim to boost cooperation, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has committed to provide Official Development Assistance (ODA) loan amount of Rs 1,165 crore to India for the development of transmission projects in Odisha.

India and Japan have had a long and fruitful history of bilateral development cooperation since 1958.

In the last few years, the economic partnership between both the countries have steadily progressed. This further consolidates and strengthens the strategic and global partnership between the two nations, the Finance Ministry said in a statement.

The loan assistance has come at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three-day China visit beginning Thursday .
