Common Heritage Of India, Central Asia Always Rejected Extremism: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the common heritage of both India and Central Asia is defined by the highest ideals of piety, compassion and welfare that has always rejected extremism.

Speaking to the students of the Nazarbayev University in Astana Tuesday afternoon, Modi said that this is a heritage founded on principle of love and devotion and is an important source of strength that brings India and central Asia together.

Describing India as the new frontier of opportunities for the world, Modi said that central Asia is a vast region of immense resources, talented people, rapid growth and strategic location.

Earlier , Narendra Modi reached at Kazakhastan capital Astana on the second leg of his Central Asian visit. He had a meeting with Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov at Hotel Rixos President.

Prior to this, the Prime Minister attended a wreath laying ceremony and planting of sapling at the Monument of Defenders of Motherland at Tauelsizdek Street.

After completion of his Kazakhstan visit tomorrow, the Prime Minister will travel to Russia for BRICS summits and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Ufa.
