BCCI Constitutes Selection Committees For Rajasthan Players

In an effort to safeguard the interests of the Rajasthan players and ensure their participation in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) tournaments, the board today appointed separate selection committees for the senior, junior and women’s teams respectively.

”As an initiative of the BCCI to protect the interest of the players of Rajasthan and to enable their participation in the upcoming domestic season, the Honourable High Court of Rajasthan in Jaipur agreed to the following composition of the selection committees: Seniors: Rajinder Singh Hans (National selector), Sanjay Vyas, Vivek Bhan Singh, Najmul Hussain, Vinod Mathur, Bharat Bhushan Juniors: Pritam Gandhe (National selector), Sukhvinder Singh, Pramod Yadav, Kuldeep MathurWomen: Hemlata Kala (National selector), Megha Gour, Shabana Khan, Pratima Bharti,” the BCCI said in a statement.

The board also appointed Amrit Mathur as coordinator for all the selection committees and he will be assisted by Taposh Chatterjee.

Earlier, last week the BCCI constituted an ad-hoc committee for managing cricket affairs in the state. The committee comprising CK Khanna, Milind Kanmadikar, Snehal Parikh and Dr PV Shetty was tasked to ensure the participation of Rajasthan teams in various BCCI tournaments in the upcoming domestic season. While Mathur was named the coordinator of the committee.

”The Court also observed that the selection committees appointed would continue to exist till the RCA matter is resolved. However, in case of any issue, liberty has been given to approach the Court for appropriate orders. The Court has directed the BCCI appointed Ad-hoc committee to protect the interest of Rajasthan cricketers,” said the release.

On behalf of BCCI, principal legal advisor of the board, UN Banarjee argued the matter.
