Kamal To Head Skill Development Endeavour For Film Technicians

Super star Kamal Hassan, an avid student of finer aspects of film making,will undertake a massive effort of ‘skill development’ of 10,000 technicians in the film industry.
Hailed as one of the finest actors in Indian cinema, Kamal will be taking up this task as the chairman of FICCI (Media and Entertainment division) and as an ambassador for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Skill Development Mission programme.
This is a long overdue national effort undertaken by the workers of various language film industries in India. The skill development programme will happen for three days in November in Chennai. The idea is to make our technicians internationally qualified, Kamal sees the initiative as,a very good worker-led initiative The unions of the film industry haveagreed for this initiative.
At the same time, he said, this should not be constured as an endeavour to by the workers to push for a hike in wages. This will facilitate recognition of film making an industry like any other business enterprise.
The endeavour would be carried out with the help of well known technicians, who will teach and trainthe participants, according to sources in the industry.
