Naveen Asks BJD MPs To Raise Issues To Benefit Odisha In Parliament

Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal, BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik Saturday asked party MPs to play the role of opposition in both Houses of Parliament. It came two days after Patnaik accused BJP-led NDA Government of discriminating against Odisha.

Speaking to reporters in Bhubaneswar after meeting the party MPs from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Patnaik said he told them to raise issues to benefit the state and its people.

However, to a question, Patnaik clarified that there was no differences in the BJD Parliamentary Party.

The ruling BJD has 28 MPs – 20 in the Lok Sabha and eight in the Rajya Sabha. Patnaik has alleged that the Centre ignored Odisha’s interest both in the 14th Finance Commission recommendations and in the 2015-16 General Budget.
