J&K Issue Avalanche Warning As Incessant Rain, Snowfall , Landslide Continue

In Jammu and Kashmir the 300-km-long Srinagar -Jammu national highway continues to remain closed for traffic for second day Monday due to heavy snowfall, incessant rains and landslides. Air and rail services also remained suspended Monday .

Reports of heavy snowfall have come from various district headquarters which has paralysed normal life in Kashmir Valley.

The state administration has issued an avalanche warning in higher reaches of the Valley and people have been advised not to venture out in avalanche prone areas.

Meanwhile, district administration Kulgam today evacuated 27 families from Waltengo Nard in Kulgam district and shifted them to a safer place in view of the avalanche warning.

The civil administration has made adequate ration, heating and other arrangements for these families.
