Amethi Food Park Cancelled As Promoter Fails To Complete Formalities : Harsimat Kaur

Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal Tuesday said the setting up of food park in Jagdishpur in Amethi district has been cancelled as the promoter company could not complete the formality of acquiring the requisite land in its name.

Making a statement in the Lok Sabha, Ms Badal said a mega food park was granted in principle approval on September 24, 2010 to a private company for setting up the project.

She said as per the scheme guidelines, the promoter of the Park was required to submit a detailed project report with possession of minimum 50 acres of land in the name of promoter company within six months from the date of issue of in-principle approval.

The minister informed the House that the promoter company was also given extension till June 30th 2014 to meet the pre-conditions.

She, however, said the inordinate delay by the promoter company forced the government to cancel the project.
