Australia Win Toss , opted To Bat In Second Semifinal of World Cup Cricket

Defending Champion India is taking on four- time winners Australia in the high-octane second semi-final of the Cricket World Cup in Sydney Thursday.

Australia won the Toss and decided to bat first .

Both teams have met 10 times in the World Cup, with the Aussies winning 7 of those matches. However, in their last encounter in the 2011 edition, which was a quarter-final fixture, India had defeated the then holders by 5 wickets.

The game promises to go all the way down to the wire as Team India is still to see a defeat in this tournament, while the Aussies hold a near-perfect record against the Men in Blue at their home soil.

Today’s winner will play against co-hosts New Zealand in the final which is slated to take place on Sunday at Melbourne.
