The Bihar Government has suspended six officials, including Jail Superintendents of Siwan and Biharsharief, over charges of dereliction of duty.
The officers were under government’s scanner after a State Minister met jailed former MP Mohd Shahbuddin in the Siwan jail, and imprisoned MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav allegedly hoisted a fiest for inmates of Biharsharief jail.
During the inquiry, it was found that the names of the Minister and the MLA did not figure in the visitor’s Register of the Jail. On the other hand, Nawada MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav, an accused in a rape case, had allegedly hosted a lunch for jail inmates on the occasion of Holi.
