BJP bites dust in Delhi : Accepts people’s mandate in all humility

With the huge win for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi Assembly polls, senior BJP leader and Union Communications and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday congratulated AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accepts the verdict of the people in all humility.
Now, let them (AAP) govern well and deliver in Delhi,” Prasad said.
“It is very clear that the Aam Aadmi Party is making extraordinary gains in Delhi.People of Delhi chose to move with Kejriwal. We accept the verdict of people in all humility. Let him govern, do well. Whatever cooperation is needed from the Government of India, we shall provide them,” he added.
As per the latest reports, the AAP is going to form the government in Delhi for the second time. AAP is set to bag incredible 67 of the total 70 seats completely decimating BJP. The ruling party at the center BJP could only hovers around three seats failing to get even the post of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly . Congress has drawn blank in all the 70 assembly seats.
A voter turnout of 67.08 percent was recorded in the polling for the 70-member Delhi Assembly. A total of 673 candidates are in the fray this time.

The BJP, which was relying heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity and had also brought in former IPS officer Kiran Bedi as its chief ministerial candidate to counter Kejriwal. However, Bdei lost to AAP in Krishnanagar .
