BJP Demands Explanation From Sonia On Semi-Naked Protests By Congress Partymen

Bharatiya Janata Party Friday demanded an explanation from Congress President Sonia Gandhi for semi-naked protests held by her party workers in front of the residence of Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
Indian Youth Congress workers, all men, had thronged in numbers and staged a demonstration by taking their shirts off in front of the residence of India’s Woman Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, after 25 Congress MPs were suspended on August 3 for creating disruptions since the start of Monsoon session.
“The BJP demands an explanation from Sonia Gandhi, who is also a woman, that how such lowly scene was allowed to be enacted by her party in front of Speaker who is not only a women but also a revered Parliamentarian who has continued to be elected from her constituency since 1989,” senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad told mediapersons here.
Criticising Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi’s remark questioning “the guts” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prasad said Mr Gandhi was indulging in “hit and run, and spit and run” brand of politics.
“Congress says that BJP is still behaving like an opposition party. We say the BJP-led government is unwaveringly doing its job, but it is the Congress which has not been able to stomach the defeat it has tasted,” Prasad said, adding if the conduct of Congress did not improve, it will soon be reduced to 4 from 44 in Lok Sabha.
“That’s another matter that the action against most of the scams — 2G, Commonwealth Games, Coal — was not initiated by the BJP, but by the Supreme Court,” he added.
“The Gandhi family, comprising Rahul and Sonia, thinks it is their dynastic and divine right over the 7 RCR (Prime Minister’s residence),” Prasad said.
The BJP leader said the Congress brought it upon itself the “fiasco” of its demand in Lok Sabha. “It was under pressure from Sonia and Rahul, the Congress set for itself an unachievable goal of forcing resignation of Cabinet Minister and Chief Ministers of party,” he added.
“Rahul Gandhi is riding a high horse which has no reins and Congress is all too willing to please him by riding the same. Wherever Rahul has taken out his frustrations against us, the people have against the Congress. First it was India, then UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kashmir, and Haryana,” Prasad said.
“It is going to be a long, very long time that the Congress will have to sit in Opposition,” he said.
Prasad also questioned the capability of Mr Gandhi to be a politician.
“Rahul Gandhi, who first failed to lead the Congress as President, is being thrust upon the country as the prospective PM.”
“In the budget session, which was most productive in the recent history, the Congress remained largely quite and bill after bill were passed. This rattled Rahul who decided in this session, Mr Modi should not get away with credit of a PM who is doing something for people. So he decided that Goods & Services Tax bill should be stopped at all costs,” Prasad remarked.
