CBI Denies Kejriwal’s Charge Of Agency Targeting Opposition Parties

19 December, New Delhi

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today refuted the allegations made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that the investigating agency has been asked to target all opposition parties and finish those, who do not fall in line.

”A CBI officer told me that CBI has been asked to target all the opposition parties and finish those, who don’t fall in line”, the CM tweeted yesterday. ”This is a completely false, baseless and misleading statement and emphatically denied.

It appears to be a part of a concerted attempt to malign India’s premier investigating agency,” a CBI official said in a statement. ”We urge the concerned person to name the alleged CBI official so that further process as per law can be initiated.

CBI reiterates its commitment to its motto that is Industry, Impartiality and Integrity,” the statement added.
