27 June,New Delhi
Prime Minister Naredra Modi will address the nation tomorrow, Sunday, through his monthly radio programme ‘Mann ki Baat’ as the Congress ramps up demand for breaking of his silence over the Lalit Modi controversy involving BJP ministers.
On the eve of PM’s radio address, the Congress today hoped that Mr Modi will break his silence tomorrow.
This is the ninth edition of the Prime Minister’s monthly address, with no subject declared so far.
“Mann ki baat cannot be redefined as Maun Ki Baat,” said Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi, adding that, “It is becoming worse than Maun vrat.”
“To talk of everything under the Sun but not of the burning issues at hand is not going to fool anyone. It shows avoidance and escapism at it worst,” he said.
“We hope this eloquent silence will be broken tomorrow,” Singhvi said.
