Dengue: Delhi Govt Orders Health Department To Purchase 1000 New Beds

Delhi government has ordered its Health Department to purchase one thousand new beds to accommodate dengue patients in hospitals.

Health Minister Satyendar Jain said, the move will help the hospitals tackle the rush of patients showing symptoms of dengue fever. He said, all the hospitals including private ones have been asked not to deny admission to any patient.

He said, all the hospitals have facilities of blood test of dengue patients and reports will be available within two hours.

Mr Jain also held a meeting with Health Secretary, Divisional Commissioners and Directors of local bodies. He asked the Divisional Commissioners to monitor the fumigation and other anti mosquito breeding drive undertaken by local bodies.

As many as 1259 dengue cases has been reported in the national capital with two confirmed deaths this year so far.
