Explosion at military factory in China shatters windows a mile away -Xinhua

An explosion at a military factory in eastern China’s Anhui province, heard by villagers, was strong enough to shatter windows in houses 2 km away, the official Xinhua news agency said Tuesday.

No information was available on possible casualties.Villagers said they heard a loud bang coming from an industrial park in Shucheng county, according to Xinhua.

Police have cordoned off the factory, while fire fighters and local officials were involved in rescue operations, it said.
