Fake Degree Case : Tomar Not Cooperating, Says Delhi Police

Police has said, former Delhi Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar is not cooperating in the investigation in the fake degree case.

A senior police officer said, when Tomar was being questioned by the investigating team, he was reluctant to answer.

Delhi Police has claimed that documents produced by Tomar were fabricated and charges under Prevention of Corruption Act might also be invoked in the case. Police said they want to know about the persons who had allegedly connived with Tomar in procurement of purported fake educational certificates.

49-year-old Tomar, MLA from Trinagar, was arrested on the 9th of this month following an investigation into a complaint by Bar Council of Delhi that he had obtained a fake law degree from the Bihar college.

An FIR was registered against Tomar at Hauz Khas police station and he was booked for alleged offences of cheating, forgery, using forged documents as genuine, forgery with intent to cheat and criminal conspiracy.
