17 September, New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s friends, fans and his party BJP are Thursday celebrating his 65th birthday holding various programmes on the occasion.

The Prime Minister himself however, started the day visiting the commemorative exhibition on the Golden Jubilee of the 1965 War.

Modi is receiving greetings from various part of the country. Among the early morning well wishers were Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. A number of his cabinet colleagues and senior BJP leaders used Twitter to convey greetings on the occasion.

The micro blogging site Twitter also celebrated Prime Minister’s Birthday with balloons floating on his page. Meanwhile, the Sulabh International organised a musical on the ‘Swachch Bharat theme”. The function was inaugurated by the Minister for Culture and Tourism Mahesh Sharma at FICCI Auditorium.

The BJP also organised a function to highlight the achievements of Modi government at the Town Hall, Chandini Chowk. Health Minister Harsh Vardhan presided over the function.

However, there are no celebrations at the PM’s residence. Modi had last year gone to Gujarat on his Birthday and sought his mother Hirabai’s blessings. The same day he had hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping in Gandhinagar. That was his first visit to his home State after assuming office.
