History Created As Yoga Moves Millions At Dawn World Wide, Raj Path Turns “yoga Path”

International Day of Yoga is being observed across the globe Sunday . In Delhi, the main event was held at Rajpath where Prime Minister Narendra Modi led thousands of participants in performing yogic exercises and pranayam.
In other parts of the country, senior Ministers and leaders led the people to mark the event. In New York, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will preside over the function at UN Headquarters.
She will be joined by Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, President of the General Assembly Sam Kutesa, US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and several other diplomats.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi said Yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a programme for the welfare of the mankind and a tool for maintaining peace and harmony.
Pointing out that Yoga can lead to a tension free world, Modi said, it can help balance mind, body and soul.
Thanking the United Nations and all the countries of the world who co-sponsored the resolution to mark this day as International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister said, the day heralds a new era of peace and harmony through training of mind. He said, when everything is moving forward, a situation should not arise where humans lag behind.
The Prime Minister recalled the contribution of ancient sages, yoga gurus, and practitioners through the ages, for spreading Yoga.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of AYUSH Shripad Naik said, the whole world is embracing Yoga in a big way today.
President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated a mass Yoga event at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Addressing the participants, he said Yoga has amazing curative as well as preventive powers and for the management of many modern lifestyle related disorders.
