Hrithik, Farah Extend Support To Aamir

Bollywood herartthrob Hrithik Roshan and choreographer–turned filmmaker Farah Khan today came out in support of industry colleague Aamir Khan, after the Bollywood superstarcame under attack from members of the BJP for his views on intolerance.

Taking to twitter, Hrithik lauded the response by Aamir to his critics yesterday.In a rebuttal to those describing him ‘anti-national’ for his views on intolerance, Aamir, in a statement issued Wednesday , said he was a ‘proud indian’ and did not need any certificate of patriotism.”What I learn from this -even when attacked u must find d power to respond and not react! Well done aamir_khan,”Hrithik tweeted.

Speaking at an awards function on Monday, Aamir had said he was alarmed at the rise in communal incidents in the country and revealed that his wife Kiran Rao had even suggested that they move out of the country.

The comments by Aamir elicited sharp reactions from BJP leaders, many of whom termed him as ‘anti-national’.Farah also came out in support of Aamir.

While stating that there was no intolerance, Farah condemned those who criticised Aamir for his comments. ”I feel there is no intolerance. However, Aamir has the right to express his view. The moment somebody expresses his view, everybody tends to jump on him,”she said.
