IAS Officers’ Association Demands CBI Probe Into Death Of DK Ravi

The Central IAS Officers Association has demanded a CBI probe into the death of Karnataka cadre IAS officer D K Ravi.

In a resolution, the association said that to set all controversies to rest, it is necessary to hand over the investigation to CBI, for a thorough scientific investigation to ascertain the real cause of death.

It has requested both Centre and Karnataka government to hand over the case to CBI at the earliest.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi has also advised Karnataka Chief Minister to transfer the investigation to the CBI.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the Centre is ready to hand over the probe to CBI, if recommended by the state government. The case is presently being probed by the state CID.

The public outcry over the mysterious death of IAS officer DK Ravi continued in Karnataka. The state witnessed different kinds of stirs Friday.

The padayatras, demonstrations, rasta roko were staged at various places. Advocates, pro Kannada organisations, social activists staged dharna.

Thousands of students, including large number of girl students, from various colleges staged a mammoth protest demanding a CBI probe into the death of Ravi.

Former External Affairs Minister SM Krishna met Ravi’s relatives Friday. JD(S) Chief HD Deve Gowda also visited the family in Doddakoppalu.
