India defeat England by 10 wickets in 3rd Test at Narendra Modi Stadium

India won the third Cricket test at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad against England by 10 wickets. The massive and comprehensive win came with Rohit Sharma finishing the match in style by hitting a six off Joe Root .

England falter again after the 113 run defeat in the second test cricket match at Chennai.

Chasing a victory target of 49 runs set by England, India  in their second innings achieved it in 7.4 overs with three days to go.

Axar Patel, who bagged 11 wickets , has been adjudged as the Man of the Match.

With defeat, England are out of the reckoning for a place at Lord’s for the World Test Championship final.Now India need to ensure they don’t lose the final test.

Earlier, England were bundled for 81 runs in their second innings this evening. This is the lowest ever Test score of England  against India. Local Boy Axar Patel claimed five wickets while Ravichandran Ashwin bagged four and Washington Sundar got one. Ashwin has become the fastest Indian to pick 400 wickets.

India were all out for 145 runs in their first innings this afternoon. For the hosts, Rohit Sharma was the highest scorer with 66 runs. For the Visitors, Joe Root claimed five wickets while Jack Leach bagged four and Jofra Archer got one.

England were all out for 112 in their first innings yesterday.

The four-match Test series between India and England is currently at 2-1 after India won 3rd Test.

This is the 100th test for 32-year old pacer Ishant Sharma. Only ten pacers have played 100 tests in their career. That includes all time greats like – Ian Botham, Kapil Dev, Courtney Walsh, Shaun Pollock, Glenn McGrath, Chaminda Vaas, and James Anderson.
