Prime Minister to visit Tamilnadu and Puducherry tomorrow
New Delhi, February 24 :
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Puducherry tomorrow (February 25) to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several welfare projects to the value of more than Rs 3022 crore.
According to an official release, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for 4 laning of NH 45-A (56 kms from Sattanathapuram – Karaikal (package of Villippuram to Nagapattinam project, covering Karaikal at a cost of Rs. 2426 crore.
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the JIPMER Karaikal building to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 491 crore and to be completed by August 2022.
Under the Sagarmala scheme, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for developing a minor port in Puducherry at a cost of Rs.44 crore. This project will give connectivity to Chennai and facilitate Cargo movement for industries in Puducherry.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for a synthetic track at the Indira Gandhi sports complex here at an estimated cost of Rs.7 crores, besides inaugurating a Blood centre at JIPMER, which will function as a research laboratory and a training centre for short-term and continuous in all aspects of transfusion, at an estimated cost of Rs. 28 crore,
The Prime Minister will inaugurate 100-bedded Sports Authority of India girls hostel at Lawspet for female athletes with an estimated cost of Rs 11.85 crore and the reconstructed Heritage Marie building with an expenditure of Rs 14.83 crore.
All these projects are in line with the vision of the Prime Minister for a New India and Atmanirbhar Bharat and will propel the growth in the Union Territory of Puducherry and help in realizing full development potential.
The Prime Minister will also visit Tamil Nadu. Coimbatore, the Manchester of South India as it is called is gearing up to welcome the Prime Minister. Security has been tightened at all areas and a local holiday has been declared due to the visit. Mr. Modi will launch various projects worth more than Rs 12,000 crore relating to infrastructure development and lay the foundation for various projects. He will also dedicate completed projects to the Nation.
